Research and Study Abroad

I have studied abroad twice with Western Kentucky University. My first trip was a little less than a month long, spent in England, studing English Literature. Most of this trip was spent in London and Grantham, England, but also took day trips to other cities. My second excursion was two weeks in Costa Rica studying Costa Rican Biodiversity. This trip also had an embedded research project, so I spent a week in a cloud forest with a couple of classmates taking measurements, analyzing, and studying differences in growth patterns in different forest successions and its impact on the environment of the area.

In addition, (separate from my experiences abroad) I volunteered in a macrobiology lab on Western Kentucky University's campus. This was not a formal research project for me, but I aided a professor in his research on insect biodiversity and systematics by sorting through insect collection samples.
