Biography:

Zulfiqar Ahmad is currently a visiting professor and teaching graduate level courses in numerical groundwater modeling and water resources. He also holds a position of professor of hydrogeology and geophysics in the Department of Earth Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad-Pakistan. He obtained PhD in hydrogeology from the University of Kentucky, USA, M.Sc in hydrogeology from the University College London, England, and M.Sc. in Geophysics from the Quaid-i-Azam University. 

With his consistent work in academia and industry, he achieved an executive endeavor award 2010 by the Ausaid, Australian Government hosted by the International Centre of food Security (IC Water), Charles Sturt University, Australia. With his persistent efforts in the forefront to establish research linkages with the foreign universities brought fruitful achievements and the memorandum of understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation between Charles Sturt University, New South Wales, Australia and Department of Earth Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad signed on Sept. 01, 2009, which will remain effective for 3 year period. Similar memorandum of understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation between University of Kentucky, Lexington USA and Department of Earth Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad signed on February , 2010, which will also remain effective for 3 year period. His special interests of specialization include hydrogeology, aquifer’s characterization, flow and transport modeling, watershed modeling, hydrograph analysis, GRACE Satellite data analysis for mass balance, and gravity study,   geophysical studies in electrical resistivity prospecting, geophysical well-logging, seismic reflection, synthetic seismograms. He also worked in Saindak metal copper project in Pakistan and used various geophysical methods to study the porphyry deposits. He traveled extensively in connection with participation in the scientific conferences and research collaboration to different countries that include Germany, USA, China, Nepal, India, England, Spain, Oman,UAE, Brunie, etc.
